RE: 68 SD ragtop

I can see the interior and engine shot but not the ones of the car itself.

Im guessing it is an early vs. late production changeover.

64 and 67 beaumonts have tons of variations between early and late built cars,  so i would guess 68s have them too

December 20, 1967 is the build date for this car. I would call that early. Brian's 4 door hardtop was built May 20, 1968.

There doesn't seem to be any consistency.

curious minds want to know what this car would be worth in the condition as found??

you may not want to broadcast it ...I would not repeat if PM'd .....

I'm just really curious,  because I'm sitting on my hands about another 68 SD hardtop with non original engine.....

well thats a great question , not that i care about the Money value ,but these cars are quite rare as we know and change hands  very little

thats the question i first asked , things are selling poorly these days but im sure if we asked Bill or Ed about selling theirs ,there may be no price or very high.

what do you guys think its rough value is

we saw the running maroon one out west sell in the low 30s , seems to have been a deal to me as it was a 4 speed car.

remember only 65 built ,if you really want one you have to wait for one to turn up for sale or build your own clone?

This one makes 8 that have been added to the registry. I guess the 3 export convertibles make a total of 59 unaccounted for so far.
There are 28 SD hardtops in the registry of the 702 built. As I would suspect, the convertible survivor rate would be higher than the hardtops.

when i was going out i was expecting a parts only car

so i tried to determine the value of it as parts only (dont worry its going to be restored and kept.) and staying verdoro green smile

so heres the good parts

396 L35

400TH trans

12 bolt posi rear end

Buckets

Console

shifterless column

Disc Brakes

big block hood

2 fenders

2 doors

glass

dash with guages and tach and woodgrain insert

SD side trim

tail panel trim

front grill

tailights

convert frame

convert top frame

i guess this cars worth the value of these parts

so then you have the value of the cars title

what do you guys think is  the value of the parts only?

your not far off on your pricing ....

I sell a NON posi 12 bolt for $500, add another $300 for a used posi.

a rebuildable 396 is $700 to $1000 around here .. ( $300 like I paid 10 years ago ? )

I well remember a friend taking the SD trim off his white 67 hdtp and filling in the holes before he painted it red. The next year, 1977 I did the same with my 68 convertible.

I was getting a "mop & glow" paint job on my rusty convert. at the time. Think it cost me $200.

That trim ended up in the garbage.nodisbeliefnodoh

I've been looking for an original paint survivor (see my post in the wanted section), and this car looks like it deserves a good cleaning/detail and PRESERVING!!! Besides, the resto would cost way more than the restored value of the car that was talked about earlier in this post... wink, wink.
