Started "stripping" out the dash for paint & when I got the clock & bezel out I took clock out of bezel. The date code on clock says Jan/ 53 OK hows that possible unless the clocks are the same for 53 & this has been swapped in place of 52??? While looking at it, it almost looks the same as a 55-56 clock. Just wondered if it is, I could use one of those for the 12V system.

Guess thats possible, date code is whats throwing me, even if clock was put in later??? Got a fellows PH# in Oshawa that may be able to repair it & convert it to 12 V [when I get that far]

Got into the parts boxes for the 52 & found "another" clock in there. Dated June 55 so I'm thinking some of you are right, these are "replacement clocks. 1955 was the 1st yr. that GM went all 12 volt & the latest clock find is a 6 volt!!!!
