I personally dont like wheels over 18 on a 70's or older car...they just look wrong most of the time.

I agree. Big wheels on an old car look like crap.

There are a few exeptions to the rule but this aint it...Put some nice 15-17 wheels and you have a winner here.

I suppose this if not really on topic and I agree that these wheels don't suit the topic car and your wagon is very nice Michael with the 14" wheels that is for sure. When you say anything do you mean anything?  My Cadillac has OEM big chrome wheels with steamroller tires very similar to the topic car, that's what comes with the performance pack from the factory. I'd be interested in your opinion.

Nice wagon but the wheels totally destroy the appearance. I just don't like those ugly things on anything, they don't suit the classic body styles in my opinion. I put 14" SS wheels on my 68 wagon and they suit the era and style of the car. But each his own I guess, that what makes the car hobby tick......http://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t43601831/my-68-impala-9-passenger-wagon-car-3/

I would have to agree with you on that.

Anything bigger than 14" looks out of place on a 60's car (unless it's an ACTUAL race car),not a street car "wanna be" race car.

Ray. IMO your wheels "suit' the car, they don't look overly large & you still have some sidewalls!!  On the other hand the wagon "looks" stupid as do any 50's & 60's cars & trucks with the 17's & up wheels & low profile tires!!!!

All it needs is a hot wheel logo on the side. Nice car but wheels and flames are a turn off. I think he says there 20 in tires and rims. On the verg of being a Donk.

Donk or did you mean "Dork-mobile"??  confuse

It looks like a circus wagon, all that's missing is Ronald McDonald hanging out the window & waving. biggrin

wheels and tires in proportion !  that is what I look for too.

On all my old crap... I run 15's.. and big side walls....I really don't care for rubber bands..UNLESS the car is extremely slammed on AIR..

even my '03 Avalanche..when I bought new wheels , I stayed with the 17's and the stock tire size...

I run 14's on my LeMans because it was designed that way. I gues that's what we are all saying. It took me a while to get used to my Cadillac DTS with 18's but I am ok with it now.
