i went from a 283 to a 305 would the linkage be different?

If you are using the 4bbl on that 305, you will have to take the stud that the cable went on to, off and use the hole for your accelerator rod... I have done this many time and even drilled that stud to accept the rod in my EFI conversions.......

as the '67 used throttle linkage, I suspect the linkage would be the same regardless of engine displacement.

Yes it would be different you need to change all parts of engane.
