This vehicle is the sister car to the Chevrolet Chevelle. This vehicle was built in Ontario Canada. The Acadian Beaumont was made by GM to have a mid-size vehicle to sell in Canada. It sits on the Chevelle platform with a GM power plant under the hood. The confusion begins because the trim is from Pontiac which gives it unique flare. Just like in later years when Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle dropped Malibu so did Acadian, and it was just known as Beaumont. This is an Acadian Beaumont which came stock with a straight 6 but now has a 283 straight 8 power glide transmission. In 1965 economy must of been tough only 265 of these were produced from what I can tell. From what my research tells me most of these vehicles have gone to the salvage yard which makes it difficult to find original parts. They do exist as I did find the badges for this unique gem. I am the 4th owner of this vehicle, and do have the documentation to show you. A woman owned it back in 65 and sold it to her brother where he made some modifications such as changing it from a 6 to a 8 cylinder. It sat with him for years which another gentleman bought it. He did not do anything but drive it on the weekends with his wife. He fell upon some hard times and thats where I come in. I had many conversations with this gentleman before I purchased the vehicle. He was from Canada and I from Ohio and that is how this beautiful car ended up here. She turns heads everywhere we take her. Simply because of her uniqueness it has car buffs scratching their heads wondering if its a Chevelle or a Tempest. The truth of the matter is she is a little bit of both. If you are a car collector don't miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity.
