66 Beaumont Fan Shroud info needed.

Would like to know what and where to buy for a fan shroud for my 66 Beaumont .Have heard that repro ones will not fit on the stock Beaumont radiator. Anyone done this and what did they use?

I'm listening too. I ran a long water pump when I swapped engines. I moved the alternator to the passenger side and I left out the spacer between the radiator support and the rad. The end result is too much space between the fan & the rad (but not enough room to fit the spacer back in). Idling on a hot day will cause the temp to start coming up.

I could solve the problem by going back to the short water pump, install the spacer and move the alternator, but a fan shroud seems easier - if I can find one that fits. I was going to pull one from a mid sixties full size and modify to fit, but they wanted too much for a rusty old piece that I would have to cut up and modify anyway.

I thought about going electric - but I have an old 40 or 60 amp alternator and I would have to upgrade that too. That wouldn't be a bad thing, but it's another 100 bucks or so (and the one I have is chrome!!).

Anybody find a shroud that fits?

they repro a stock 1964-65 one that was used on A/C cars and some 327 cars in the usa,  never seen a stock one on a canadian 64/65,  but regardless,  it is a stock fitting one for a stock red,  im sure it would fit 66s as well.  You may have to remove the finger guard from the top of the rad tho.

Can be found at trueconnections chevelle parts out of riverside ca.

Going electric may be the best way , as it wouldn't hurt to upgrade the alternator, and you wouldn't have to deal with the hassle of returning a shroud to the USA if it didn't work .

Here's an original appearing one at summit made by OPG:

if you want a modified look, you just have to add mounting hardware to this aluminum shroud

There are alot of other ones on their website too... just measure your rad, and go shopping!
