New Engine

Well here it is guys my new 461 ci full roller and gear drive engine! it sounded awesome on the dyno with a nice lumpy idle and blower whine from the gear drive, next week it gets mated to the new TH400 and then dropped into the 69 Custom. More updates as work progresses

Be nice to see that in your car. You still making a SD clone or staying with the Custom look.

I am throwing ideas around...I have the BB hood which is on the car, I have a SD emblem but have not drilled holes (YET) I have been tinkering with the idea of putting on the Tempest CustomS emblem. But I am for sure going with the SD interior cause I just gotta have those stripes!! I am also going with 69 dog dish caps and beauty rings on Wheel Vintiques series 62 wheels for that sleeper look!

It went to Ricmond engines and they did a cam break in...changed the oil...adjusted the valves and then pulled a dyno run...I built it to be streetable and the numbers were.....

450 HP @ 5500 RPM

501 ft lbs torque @ 3600 Rpm

Should be lots o fun!!!!!

brad do you live in yarrow or chilliwhack, or are have they blended into burbs or each other. my pops used to be posted to chilliwack in the late 60's early 70's and he never liked living on base so we rented a house on duncan rd out yarrow way for 1 year in 72, only school i had to wear a uniform was in yarrow. then he bought a house up at cultus lake for 3 years, corner of cedar and sunnyside 72-76. dads old 67 beaumont wagon was bought new in chilliwack. we also live out at cedardale till they built the chem center in vedder crossing (just checked the maps nothing there now). sorry about the ramblings brought back old memories when i saw yarrow in your user name

My daughter lives up in promontory heights. Maybe I'll hear it from there!

Here is a suggestion from Performance Products which is the Cyclone intake manifold on my engine. It has 4 water ports on the intake and I crossed over the back two ports, It is supposed to improve cooling on the #7 & #8 cylinders and balance out the coolant in the engine. I used 300 psi fittings and hose, we'll see how it performs in the coming weeks.

I suppose you could use it on a marine engine but this manifold is a direct factory knockoff of the 396/375HP manifold except mine is oval port. The extra water ports are a performance improvement, and it also has nitrous bosses cast into it but they are not drilled.

Nice engine! It should be great to drive with all that torque and horsepower so low in the rpm range.

I love that look. Wondering what wheel width and diameter's you might be going with?...

15"x8"x4.5" offset on the rear and still deciding on how wide to go on the fronts....

This is a very good idea, it'll help move the coolant around.  Your high psi fittings and hose are somewhat overkill, but better safe than sorry.

Thats what I figured....but being how its run behind the distributor I thought I would use these fittings because they are brass and push on...no need for hose clamps...I told the hydraulic guy if they failed he would foot the bill to fix it!!!!
