Todd's dad's car is a hard top. Look at the window opening, no door frame behind the vent window.

The '58 Impala actually has a longer trunk lid than the Bel Air as well (along with different rear sheet metal).   I think the same is the case in the Parisienne and Laurentian, but I'm not sure.
