1967 Chevy C-20

Picked up this truck in Louisville, KY yesterday.  Nice driver, 327 4bbl, auto, power steering and disc brakes.  20" wheels and tires.  Older restoration, I will be upgrading most of the paint, interior and maybe a tonneau cover.

are you sure it's a 67?   67's didn't have marker lights, and many had the small rear window.

The title is being mailed to me from Kentucky.  My bill of sale says 67 and there was another 67 for sale at the same time that I noticed had different side marker lens but did have the marker light.  I will check the vin and I'm going to check the numbers on the engine pad.

from internet (below)

The "correct" answer is that all 68s had marker lights, but very few people know what GM really did in those days. I believe that they used what was on the shelf at the time. I've seen many trucks that looked original with the "wrong" parts.
I have a truck that's titled as a '67 (numbers match) with marker lights.

I thought all 67's had the small back windows till a friend of mine brought one up from texas with the big back window. learn something new every day. nice truck norm

also to add to what carl said using my 55 as an example. my taillight brackets are from a first series 55 and i know the previous owner never changed them out.

or they could have just used 68 or later front fenders during the restoration, as I don't think 67 front fenders are reproduced.      Re the rear window, not all 67's had the small window, I think the Department of Transport (or whatever the agency is) didn't like the small window, and made GM increase the size.   I suspect the large window was available as an option throughout the model year.

 More smile

'60-'66 Chevy/GMC trucks had the small back window, as standard equipment

and the big back window, as an Regular Production

Option (R.P.O.) #A10 - Panoramic Cab.

Small window was standard equipment.

Big window was an extra cost option.

The bigger window was available on all years, 60-66.

as an additional tidbit - the small window survived through the body change year and was also available in 67 along with the big back window.

After that, all big windows. So, in that light, the SMALL window is actually desirable in the 67 because it's the only year (for that body style, 67-72) that you could get a small back window.

I didn't know about the small versus large window deal   thats cool

The hood has chips and such on the front edge and appears to be hail damage on top.  Both rockers have bubbles in the paint.  New ones are so cheap we may just replace both of them and repaint lower.  We also need to repaint the insde lower of doors.  Good news is, it is entirely worth it because everything is solid underneath.

We are going to two-tone the cab on top and down to chrome moulding on back.  My painter thinks white or actually Ivory but I have another color in mind.

Handsome truck! the 90's stepside fenders actually look pretty good on those which is what it seems to have.

Got even better looking in 69! (whicih is the one I have so I'm a bit biased)  Re the back window I have a parts 67 CST with no  marker lights and the big back window.  As some have said,  they were optional in 67 and standard thereafter.  Some people like the look but I prefer the large one.

I'd say the frt. fenders have been replaced!!! As far as I can remember the side lights didn't come out till 68?? I had a 67 with the small b/glass, but the big one was an option. Nice truck!!! Like the later rear fenders as well, they blend in well with the cab.

Undercarriage pics ? Body mounts ? Inner rockers ? Kick panels ? Cab corners ? Any previously repaired rust ?

1968 is the year GM started side markers - may have been government safety legislated - for years there were no aftermarket 67 fenders only 68-72

I have found a couple sources for sheetmetal both aftermarket and rustfree original.

These are my ideas for the truck.

Lower front and back about 3"-4"

Paint the cab 2-tone as original in Silver metalic

Replace outer rockers, both sides

Remove black bench seat and replace with later model gray vinyl or leather from salvage yard.

Engine compartment cleanup, repaint brake booster, remove braided lines & replace air cleaner.

Replace steering wheel with original size wheel, possibly rosewood.

Cover the bed with hopefully hard shell cover or at least a soft tonneau.

After this work is completed, price will be $13,000 to $15,000  in the spring
