LS64 - L33/4l60E Swap

Here we go biggrin
Engine:  5.3L L33 (Ls Series V-8)
Ls6 Cylinder Heads
310Hp / 335 FtLbs Tq
9.9:1 Compression Ratio.
Transmission: Gm 4L60E

December 2011:

The aftermarket has a ton of stuff to make an LS powerplant fit into almost anything.  It took a lot of reading, and shopping, but for what I used, the engine dropped in beautifully, almost as though it was made for it.

Heres what I used to put it together and drop it in:

Engine Adapter PlatesHooker (HOK-12611HKR) - Stock Location
Engine/Trans Mounts - Energy Suspension (ENS-3-1120G) - Engine Trans Mount Kit (Polyurethane)
Oil Pan - GM Performance (NAL-19212593) - LH8 Pan Kit
Mount Bolts - ARP (ARP-130-3105) - Mount to Crossmember Bolts
Torque Converter Bolts - ARP (ARP-230-7305) - Torque Converter to  Flexplate Bolts
Flexplate Bolts - ARP (ARP-244-2901) - Flexplate to Crank Bolts
Bellhousing - Summit (SUM-HK-M10C40) - Bellhousing to Block Bolts

So far the fitment is good, however there are a few concerns to be addressed:
1. The Oil pan hangs 2 inches down below the crossmember.  Once I see where the ride height sits, it may be an issue

2. For anyone that purchases a takeout motor from salvage, on the drivers side of the block there may be a blockheater.  With the adapter plates I used this is an issue.  The blockheater needs to be removed, and GM Block Plug (11609289) MUST be used in its place.
MORE TO COME......

Looks good Jeff. Whats the info on Emmissions out there, do you have to put all the "crap" on that engine like you do in Ontario, to be LEGAL?????

Thanx.... Currently here there are no emissions rules here, at this point I still plan to put cats on it, unless plans change. I'm sure someday the rules here will change
