I've been following this guys "purchase thread" on LosBoulevardos.com and it was quite a score, unfortunately the tranny is no good-it truly is an exceptional buy. What I don't understand is that I thought all Canadian pontiacs had Chevy running gear-why not this one-am I missing something?

It's a CHIEFTAIN not a Cdn. Poncho re the 316 V8 & one yr. only engine, this would have a Hydromatic 4spd. trans. if its "nackered" or BIG BLOCK & 3 pedals will "fix" it!!!!!!!!

I am really surprised that the US model used the Chevrolet style rear quarter panel and taillight housing similar to a 55 Chevy. I would have thought it would have been styled like a Safari rear end.

Why are you whispering, are you not supposed to be on the computer again?

It might be easer to change the interior to green, or black than repaint the car. Keep it stock looking on the outside and put a BBC in it, or a Pont 455.
