production numbers on 59 Laurentian

Hi from New Zealand.

I have just inheritied my uncles 59 Laurentian and am wanting to find out all we can about them.

It is original and in very good condition, other than the carpets and arm rests. Runs like a dream.

Where are the production numbers found?

Is anyone able to suggest where we could get a service manual from?

Thanks

I hope you get the manual also.

That manual is 1959 Canadian Pontiac specific, and hard to get, exactly what you need (it has never been reprinted).

It works in conjunction with the 1958 Chevrolet shop manual which you can get any time (below, it is reprinted).

Here's my set, for my car (along with my 1958 - 1965 Canadian Pontiac Parts Catalogue, another book you may want to get in the future).

If you are after NZ-assembly figures, I was sent sheets by car number to the last days, 1966 I think it was, for Chev and Pontiac. GM NZ may still have the assembly figures, though Vintage Vehicle Services in Oshawa should have the export figures by country: they sent me the 1958 cars some years ago and that listed the NZ cars.

Thanks for the help. Lucky we got that book on ebay and have since found the 1958 Chev manual in the town. Unbelievable !!

Did you restore your 59 Pontiac?

We are finding out so much about them.

The59 Lautentian seems quite  rare in NZ.

Will get a photo up soon, if I can work out how!!

I'm a bit thick when it comes to new web sites.

Cheers Lorraine
