66 Beaumont Chasis Shop Manual

Does anyone have and use this manual! I'm about to start ripping my interior apart (dash, steering column, door regulator) and I'm wondering if it helps with this stuff! I already started on the dash bezel, and unless I have a devil car, I can't figure out some of this! I removed all the screws and knobs, but for some reason I can't unscrew ignition, it stops just short of end! The cig lighter just spins. As well can't get headlight knob off assembly, and I've had to remove the wiring from each control switch (washer, lighter, ignition) instead! Also, I removed two small nuts behind dash that's connected to the bezel but it just doesn't wanna come! I looked for other screws/nuts holding bezel to dash but see nothing! So.....should I get a manual for stuff like this, would it help!? Thanks

I believe your ignition switch has to come apart as many do, using your key and a paper clip. Is there a tiny hole in the face of the igntion lock? If so, turn your key to accessory. Then straighten out the paper clip and push it in the hole. It should feel "springy". Push on the clip while slightly rotating the lock and key counter clockwise and pulling it towards you (away from the dash)

The lighter should just need your other hand up behind the dash holding the tubular housing from turning while you spin the outside counter clockwise.

Turn on the headlights. Then reach up behind and you will feel a little spring loaded button on the switch, opposite side to where the wires plug in. Pull on the light switch knob and it should come out. Then remove the nut holding the switch.

So what's keeping the bezel from coming off?

I would have to look at a parts picture to see but I'm sure there must be more than just the 2 that you removed.

Can you put up a picture showing what you've removed so far?

I'd like to, but other than the screws and wires, to anyone else it looks like its still mounted to the metal dash! When I tug on both sides of bezel it gives but something around the steering column feels like its holding on! I've shined a light to see under there but I can't figure it out! That's why I was wondering if the shop manual could give insight! Not much space or ease of maneuvering for 6' 1" 235 lb body to get under there and fiddle before body parts start goin numb !! :)

Thanks for the offer Lefty, appreciate it but I don't mind spending cash for a 66 manual, I've already been contacted by a good man just north of me!

Thanks
