Does anyone have any experience with Sanderson shorty headers on a 64-67 big block Chevelle? A friend is considering them and it would be nice to hear from someone who has tried them. Also, can't seem to find if they are fine with manual trans? (Z bar for clutch in the way?)
Thanks

I've seen several sets on Rods and once on a Nova. They sure look very nice and they don't use gaskets either. They are heavy gauge, some almost look like factory cast manifolds. The company prides itself on a quality product.

Our Aluminized Ceramic Coating is available and RECOMMENDED on all Sanderson Headers. We apply a multi-layer inside and outside silver ceramic coating in-house to meet our high standards of quality, and polish the coated header to a high luster. This coating provides aerospace and military technology to your vehicle to control the heat in your engine bay, improve cylinder scavenging of exhaust gases, and increase the longevity of your header investment. You can select Thermal Ceramic Coating below, and the header price and part number will be automatically updated.
Copper Collector Gaskets are recommended for all Sanderson headers (SEE RELATED PRODUCTS BELOW)
Sanderson Headers do not include collector bolts due to our customers' wide range of preference. We do offer a collector bolt set that features Grade 8 Bolts with Locking Nuts (SEE RELATED PRODUCTS BELOW)
NOTES:
The Patented Leak-Free Design that Sanderson Headers offer you is the only leak-free flange design on the market ... Do Not Attempt To Use Flange Gaskets! The raised flange on the Sanderson Headers will buckle the gasket during tightening and actually cause a leak!
Sanderson Headers are NOT emissions legal on pollution-controlled motor vehicles. It is the purchaser's responsibility to verify local regulations for compliance.
Wrapping your Sanderson Headers with ANY thermal tape voids your header warranty. The best thermal protection for your headers is our Aluminized Ceramic Coating that is available for every Sanderson Header.
When sitting in driver's seat and engine in front of you, the LEFT header would be the Driver's Side on LH drive vehicles; coincidently, means the RIGHT header is on the passenger side. See the detail image above left that describes engine sides.
I've seen mixed reviews on Team Chevelle... most guys seem to like Hedmans for fit, (and Lemons for the cadillac of headers for high hp/afermarket heads)... are you using a/c? stock heads?
I have a set on my 66 rag -they were the 3rd set of headers I ordered for that 415 with AFR aluminum heads. My car as you know is a 4 speed and yes they finally fit,but they did need some massaging to work and I can say that they are nice, but they are going to come off.Just wasn't happy with having to dent the pipes to clear spark plug wires etc..I am having Walls build me a set of stainless headers to fit the car instead of these-ya it is alot more cash but I was just not happy with the Sanderson headers fit in the end. They are shorty's also
