And 421, 428 and 455 Pontiac engines are considered "big blocks"!

These are large journal designed engines. There is no difference in the block of a 326 vs 455. The 350 is definitely not a large journal design.

I would say $5000 is a steal for that 72 Lemans, no matter what area you live in. Thats a no brainer...

Rays car is even more of a steal at $2500!!! Let me know when it goes on the market at that price buddy

I'll give you the high end $3500 for it just because I am so nice!.wink

You could probably get near 4 grand if it was autographed biggrin

Correct/agree with all that. Just stating what "experts" say. I use the term loosely!

It would be a good discussion, I believe that Ford guys call a 352 a big Block and a 351 a small block.  I think that generally speaking when the term Big Block is used people understand Chevy. I have no idea about Chryslers but I heard 440's called big blocks.

Yeah, I am not very Ford savvy but I think the 352 is like a 390 which is like 428 and 460 so that would make sense.

However, I think there's 2 different 351's..............

Lots to learn!

I'm making a late New Year Resolution. No more comments about cars posted for sale. It is always a good conversation starter but inevitably someone's feeling get hurt. I think too much of all you guys so this is the end.

It makes for good conversation,, prices are somewhat regional , so it is interesting to see, AND listen !

True on all counts. the 352 was an FE series engine like the 390 and 428, etc. The 351 was a smal block in 2 forms - 351W and 351C, whihc I beleive denoted where they were built. what i'm not Ford savvy enough to know is what was the difference in the 2 351 engines.

I spoke via Email with the seller (Mike) yesterday who advised that the deal fell through, the buyer never showed.

As of yesterday the car was still available, in case anyone had any interest.

I know if $5 thousand falls into my lap in the next couple of days I'll definitely be snapping it up! Stripe or no stripe...smile.

My old man's Tempest 2dr. sedan had a 140 MPH speedo so who knows how it was decided which cars got it. What a relief on the graphics.

Hey. I bought it.

It's not totally rust free, rear wheel wells are starting but I shall have that fixed ASAP. Excluding that, its rust free. Interior is still in very good condition, few cracks in the dash, 1 rip in seat (pass. side) It does have the 140Mph Speedo which im pleased about. Rest easy "Rat Boy" I'll be removing the stripe soon enough.

Figured I would join up to give you all a bit of closure on this one, just stumbled upon you all talking about it after I made the purchase.
