some of these scams are simply to gather valid email addresses that are then sold to advertising companies. So if you answered any one of these ads in the past, you may have gotten on the email list for male enhancement or partypoker or who knows what.
A list of 5000 VALID email adresses of people interested in old cars has cash value to the right advertiser. Still a scam because it is underhanded.

Nice car & well priced. Ideal candidate for the EMMISION Police here in Ont. Don't see any Emm. equip. on the "CRATE" engine. Could get "very" expensive in the "fines" dept.

True, but the fact is in normal driving, it probably runs cleaner than the original motor...unless it's on the pipe of course!

What a sick world we live in. Will it get to the point when you can only trust ones own mother, that is if you are lucky enough. Good lesson here to be learned, thanks. George.

I saw on the news last week about a "scam" in Florida on rental houses. "Scamer" take a picture of a house [not hteirs] & list it for rent. 4 ladies from Canada got caught up in it. Arrived at house by taxi, unloaded their bags & owner came out the front door asking "What's up here" they were out $1500 deposit, & nowhere to stay, as house was not for rent, owner said 3 more car loads showed up the next day. He now has a sign in frt. door to call the police if you've rented this house!!!!

I have never thought about myself as being a naive person in any sense of the word but after reading some of the comments on this post, i am just dumbfounded at the stuff going on out there to cheat people out of their money. It seems a person almost has to go through life always assuming that they will be conned in order to not be conned. A person has to be very dilegent in ones day to day life to make sure they are not any kind of statistic. Cheers. George.

Mark, I don't 'dispute" that at all, but the "Gestapo" [EMO] doesn't check to see how clean it is, just hands out the fines for every piece missing acording to the engine #'s & it's up to you to "prove yourself innocent". I would really like to see someone take these fines to court & 'test' out the system!!! These Emm laws keep changing but no notification is given. You have to check "daily" to see what they've changed. I just found one clause that says "if engine swap' done previously to Jan 99, it's exempt, but how do you prove that when you get to court????? & does that "TRUMP" the lastest edition???
