These are super cool cars! It could be hard and expensive to get the AMC specific combined hood tach/scoop, (maybe they are reproduced) and some of the specific interior parts.

Very cool car back in the day. I always liked those. A friend has a fully restored one. I'm a former AMX(2) and Javelin(1) owner as well as an Ambassador!
Whoever got it WON big time!!! I know a person here in Ont. that has 2 of those, 1 is the red white & blue, the other is [more rare] solid colour!!! he also deals in AMC parts & would likely have most of the parts required to do this car up RIGHT!!! I believe he even had the stripes reproduced, when he acquired a "MINT" NOS set!!!

Back in 1975 I happened to see a 1970 Rebel Machine rolled out of a barn at county road 42 (maybe it was #24 @ highway 6) near Port Rowan, near Long Point. The thing looked brand new! I wonder if it was the same car I saw in Westdale in Hamilton from 1976 through 1978. The car was in appalling shape when I saw it in 1979, burning oil and rusted out. Around 1981 I saw a Rebel SST for sale with a 304, but a 4-speed & Rebel Machine hood with the tach. Probably the machine had been parted out. What a shame if it was the same car. I never would have let that happen under my watch...
