RE: Whats the market for a 409 car these days?

Hi guys I'm not sure where the number 19 came from but my brother has documentation from George that states that 74 65 Custom Sport 2 door sport coupes and convertibles with L33 (340 horse) 409's"
were made.

That doesn't exclude other models such as the wagons etc.

That would be interesting to know as well.  By the way Ray where is the registry found these days? I seem to have misplaced it.

Also is the boast I make in my signature line still true?  I don't want to be out of date.

The Registries are accessible from the Main Home page. On the forum tool bar it is the most left button "Canadian Poncho Homepage".

Here are the registry results for Beaumont big block, 396 cars.

1966 - 5

1967 - 40

1968 - 33

1969 - 3

We can see that big block "Pontiacs" were and are few and far between. It's no wonder they are so revered.

I just seem to remember it being a 65, as I had a 65 at the time and towed it up to his shop with my 65.........but, then again, that was 35 or so years ago.......lol

I figured I would complete the analysis of the registries with respect to big block cars so I looked up the 1958 through 1961 348 cars. Remember no big block offered in 1962.

1958 - 1

1959 - 0

1960 - 1

1961 - 0

Hey Ray do those later years like 66 and 67 include Beaumont numbers or just the big guys?

November 8, 1965 build date if I recall correctly. The next one we have was built on November 26, 1965.

Actually I noticed  my firewall tag recently and it says 1-10-26 so i am not sure of why Nov 8 was quoted on my GM documentation.  It may have been the shipping date.

This Toronto boy has only ever seen one 409 Pontiac in the flesh and maybe 3 or 4  396/427/454 cars. Plenty of Sport Deluxe though.

That would make sense. Bit of a delay from the build date but it wouldn't be a shock if the A/C somehow held it up, maybe for completion or something?

I must confess I have wondered about that. They only put 23 in the Grande 2 door's according to George Z so there wouldn't have been many per month.

Would be so cool! (so to speak)
