correct paint colour, rattle can?

Gentlemen, I have some nice rally 11 wheels which I am planning to put on a restored 1969 Beaumont.  They have already been painted, pale silver grey on the "spokes" and black background.  I am no authority, but I seem to think that the correct background colour for GTO and some Firebird wheels is a kind of very dark charcoal grey.  First off, am I right that these wheels need to be corrected?  Also, what is the name of the colour, and where can I get it?  Thanks in advance for any and all consideration.  R. B.

Gentlemen, I think that I have found the answers.  There is a paint advertised by Year One and a paint mask for said wheels.  That should do it.  I think the paint was PN QP 947 ( petty expensive, north of $ 100.00 ).  Still, I have an answer.  If anyone has a better one, that would be just fine with me.  Please post it.  Best regards, R. B.

I have had several brand new cars that came with Rally II wheels, Firebirds which were built in the USA and LeMans which were built in Oshawa. The charcoal colour was different on the various wheels as well as the way in which they were painted but 40 years later it makes no difference. I even ordered factory service replacements for snow tires and they came all Silver. It was easy to find a good rattle can match at Canadian Tire for the charcoal.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the assistance.  Guess I was a bit premature, because continued slogging through the internet has opened my eyes to some interesting alternatives.  For instance, some of the parts that I have been trying to source seem to be available from Canadian sources, Early Birds for one.  Maybe I can get the painting mask and some of that Canadian Tire spray paint.  The other stuff was $ 149.00 for a 1 quart can.  Then, you had to own spraying equipment.  So, getting real close using a rattle can looks like a good idea.  I will post a picture of my car if it is ever done.  I have had some guidance from Brad and a couple others since joining this site.  I have never clear coated anything, but after seeing brackets for power steering and the backing plate for aluminium water pumps rust, I am about to start using it.  I degress.  Once again, thanks for the continuing support.  Best regards, R. B.
