its all Chevy except sheet metal. When ordering part just tell the 55 Chevy don"t even bring up Pontiac or you will get the wrong parts.

Welcome! As Vern (57poncho) said, under the skin - chassis, brakes, suspension, steering - it is all Chevy. 99% of people, especially parts dealers, get confused if you say Pontiac, so don't. Just order parts for 55 Chevy and you will be fine, except of course for sheet metal, and the dash - gauges, etc. - which is mostly (except steering column) Pontiac.

For sure window rubbers and seals, door and trunk rubber are 1955 Chevrolet. Here are some sources to get you started (sorry I am unaware of any in Canada):

http://www.classicchevy.com/

http://stores.ebay.com/MUTTON-HOLLOW-CHEVYS

http://stores.ebay.com/MAINLY-CHEVROLET

I have used all of them and they have decent prices with very good service.

If you have questions about any specific part, just ask here, eh?

Dave

Hi and welcome to the site. I think your car is a pathfinder deluxe by the side mouldings.  If you need any specific info or part numbers just ask.

Hi Adam, nice car.
You must stand out like a sore thumb at the beach parked beside all the CRX's! Good to see it!
Welcome aboard, looking forward to seeing pictures.

Now you can show your buddies what A REAL CAR looks like. You are going to learn everything you need to know on this great site that Todd has made possible. WOW guys this is awesome!!! Thank you so much for all the helpful replies, a lot of questions got answered!!!! I do love this car a lot, so much to drive and with the straight 6 its even better. I also own a 64 Buick Skylark 2 door hardtop thats been done for a few years, its a lowrider with full digital air ride and all the bells and whistles but I've always wanted a 50's era car because of the look, style and simplicity....and thats what I found!! Plus, its a one owner car. It left Oshawa and went to a dealer in Lethbridge Alberta and was bought by a man from the Vancouver area and as of 6 years ago he was unable to get his licence anymore due to age related problems so he had to sell it. Luckily my friend was working at the insurance company he dealt with and called me asap when the guy came in to take the insurance off. After a 30 mins, some emails of pics and a phone call....I bought her for 1500 bucks!!!! Not to bad I thought, but then I still needed to get it back here. So, luckily my friend at the insurance company was coming back to my home town of Sauble Beach for the summer like he did every year and we made a deal, if he drove it out for me then he could drive it for the summer and then I would buy his plane ticket home.....and thats what happened, thank god he only stayed a few months cause I could tell he was falling in love with it!!!!
