It's because of the rear door handles being shaved!

Sometime a repair claim will exceed the book value (lets see, a 1967 Dodge Coronet 4-door...) and the ins. co will simply write it off. If insurance has ever written off that VIN it cannot ever be written off again, hence a branded title. I would think there must be a way around it, but it would probably entail a very detailed inspection and appraisal. Still there is that insurance issue...

It's easy to blame the insurer but some moron must have made a claim and accepted the total loss cash offer on that car. Policy holder clearly to blame on this one.

The driver's side tail light is probably broken and the Insurance company can't buy one from the Dodge dealers. Write it off! It's probably worth more as scrap iron than the book value of a '67 4-door Dodge anyway...
We live in a consumer society. It is our civic obligation to purchase a new car every couple years to keep the economy rolling. 45 year old cars are an abomination to the order of things. If we all drove 45 year old cars, the impact on the economy of Ontario would be devastating. Worse even than a Canadian dollar at par. Worse than $100 oil. Worse than ...
Obviously Manitoba is just trying to compensate for the negative impact Alberta has on Ontario.
Pretty staright looking old "MOPAR", duals out back, don't think it's a "leaning tower of power" but could be with split manifold??? Shame to see this situation, somebody should take Carl up on offer to 're-title"
not re-title (as in vin swap) properly title in Ontario
We have a 69 Z28 and 70 Z28 both bought as write offs
from U.S. with salvage titles... We take title to Ont MTO, and new registrations are issued with no branding Why? They are over 15 years old and not in the branding program Both cars are fixed and safetied
Same with RV we have two trailers from Florida both with certificate of destruction One for hail damage (it gel coat fibreglass- we can't see damage and one had the fridge burn up Both trailer are "clean title"

I totaly agree with you ray. Someone needed some quick cash, or wanted that car gone. Owner is just as stupid as MPIC in this one
