door decal

It started in 67 with the centennial and they were a light blue ( aqua),68 and 69 were darker blue

Chevrolet 1967 "GM MARK OF EXCELLENCE" Door Label

The Mark of Excellence is the original name of the logo of the General Motors Corporation. First introduced in 1966, the logo originally included the phrase "Mark of Excellence" at the bottom, and as a decal, it was installed on the door jambs of General Motors' vehicles. This logo also was stamped on the release buttons of seat belt buckles on GM vehicles from 1967 until the mid-1990s. Originally turquoise, the color was changed to a royal blue in 1968.

The phrase "Mark of Excellence" and its appearance on the logo was phased out by the late 1970s.

This practice is similar to that of Chrysler Corporation, which included small emblems of its corporate Pentastar logo on the passenger-side fender of Chrysler, Plymouth and Dodge automobiles in the 1960s and '70s, and again in the 1990s.

In 2005, It was announced that small silver emblems of the logo would be applied to the exterior of every 2006 GM vehicle. This was continued into 2007. A decision was made in August 2009 to stop using the GM "Mark of Excellence" badge on GM vehicles. It was agreed that with GM's post-bankruptcy focus on four core brandsand less of a focus on the GM brandthe relevance of the badge has diminished.

The phrase was sometimes used in a derogatory fashion, to highlight common failures on GM vehicles. For example, a large crack that would routinely appear in the dashboard of 1971-76 Chevrolet Impalas and Caprices would be referred to as the "Mark of Excellence".

The "Mark of Excellence" is also an award given by Chevrolet/GM to dealerships for superior sales volume and customer satisfaction.

Tire decal goes in the inside of the glovebox door.

Yes all the 67 beaumonts had the gm decal in the door.  The shade is very slight so i dont think most would know the difference.

It correct location is somewhere in the door jamb ...so I've been told? confuse

Thanx Beaumontguru ...I bought a repo "glove box decal"  and had no idea where is belonged. wink

Do you know if all big block 67's had the "Caution" fan blade sticker on the rad support?

There's also a thermostat sticker on the passenger side of the rad support...wonder if that's factory correct for Beaumonts as well?

I see them installed all the time. Vendors sell them as restoration decals. They are 100% incorrect since GM did not use them. Those typical orange & black decals that I see all the time are correct for Fords only. Seriously.nod.gif

Technically the HD radiator & fan shroud on a pre-68 big block Beaumont is not correct either. Strangely GM Canada did not offer the V01 HD Radiator on big block Chevelles or Beaumonts through 1967. Still I think they are a very good idea to add.

A 5-blade temperature-controlled fan was a factory option on V8 Beaumonts.

Did you guys " Beaumont's"  Use these?   I had this one reproduced by a guy here in Kamloops... Its a two part decal..  And you have to type the build date and vin on.. then the clear aplaque on top of it.. The american GTO's had one simular but was darker blue and the wording was different..

I just read that the decals were put on for a safety device to warn traffic

of an openning door, so it would make sense to have them on both doors wink
