Pull the rear seat, arm rests, with the top up. Remove three bolts and pull it out throught the top. You will need to build a fitting to bleed the air out. Personally I would pull the pump and the rams out of the car and bench bleed the system. Chances are that you will need new lines because the fittings won't back out of the cylinders. I will post a picture of the fitting I built for mine. I just did this yesterday so it's fresh in my mind. Paul.

Here is the fitting I made. You screw it into the pump and make sure the flexable tube stays submerged in trans fluid. It creates a bladder that burps the air out of the system one way and fills it in the other. Just run the pump up and down until the air is gone and it runs smoothly. Paul

Yup,  just did the same thing myself last week.  Finally got my top working,  had to change out the motor,  but it works great.

I made basicly the same thing that paul did,  it will pull fluid from the bottle and bleed itself as you work the top up and down.  It actually shows to do this in the 64 shop manual.

Also,  be sure to use a good transmission fluid, instead of the original brake fluid,  less messy and better for the system

Mixed nuts (especially with a high cashew percentage) go with everything!
