our 66 caprice 283 had the cables. i know we pulled them out of the caprice and used them in the 67 beaumont wagon because we kept on breaking mounts and the engine would hit the hood if you floored it. i didn't realize the old mounts had the tab made into them. i had ordered new mount for the 2+2 and noticed the extra tab but figured what the hell at least they work. this past week i was at rarechev and was checking out his new mounts still in the box and he told me what that tab was for.

I remember my 63 and 64 both broke there mounts and being the cheep guy I was back then i just Took the mount off and drilled a hole into the now two half's and bolted them together and put it back on. Job done, and drove for years. Was an old drag race trick.
