how  about  listing  all the  repro  and  used parts  suppliers  in  a section

(  or does it already  exist ??)

 

and  also  classified  as us  or  canadian  suppliers

(  i prefer buying  on this  side   than  paying   all that  customs  and  brokers bull....)

isnt that  a great  idea  !!!!!  i dont  know   them  all  thats  for  shure!

I think this is an excellent idea! Perhaps each model catagory could have a section that members could list suppliers contact info...good idea. I didn't have any idea where to start when I was(still am) looking for parts.

68SD has compiled a great list there who would have thought that trunk lid fit soo many.A sticky would be great starting with vendors who support this site.Maybe a canuk list then the usa one? I can say EKLERS is a pain to deal with from exp,KMS car parts in chillywackis OK,this would be a good one as a heard SUMMER is coming to the west in a couple of months........

i wounder if i can get a postal box beeing an other side guy ????

not a bad idea thought

does the border guy ask for receipts when you cross with the goods ???? does it matter if the receipts are not local ( you telling him you bought it localy)

if the  goods are from  let s say  California........................and  you  drove in  the border in the morning   ??   well   ........

my idea of this section was also to sort out the usa and canadian suppliers

especially to avoid the custom and broker fees , but the parts availability is greater in the u s , so sometimes you dont have a choice , unless you know all the canadian suppliers to check them all out to get your part

         Louis   If you could get a post office box pickup in U.S.  

it would save you tons of money on shipping

e.g.  I bought 15x7 chrome torque thrust D rims for 820.00 with free shipping from California to Michigan   Wife picked them up  declared them at border after a day of shopping and they waved her through  (they always do)

 

The closest border crossing between Quebec and the US is at Lacolle Quebec.

They ask;  what did you buy?  or anything to declare? 

We always have receipts in hand and give them a figure   312.88 or 788.95  etc..  

Look them in the eye (sunglasses off) and always tell the truth or close to it..   

worst situation you have to pay tax  

you still bought it cheaper and saved shipping 

(A lot and I mean a lot) of U.S. suppliers offer free shipping to all 48 States

 

p.s.  I always try to buy Canadian first     

NOS are top notch if you don't want to bother with border
