doing the assembly with parts that maybe correct and maybe not. i have 2 pivot rods that go from the transmission to the frame. the assembly manual, parts manual and parts book are pretty generic. meaning no good pic of assembly. i'm thinking i'm missing the correct floor shifter cable to transmission gear selector lever. opinions
I think what your referring to is the linkage that back feeds off the tranny to the column, it's purpose is the locking column, and which also locks the transmission??
the console shifts the tranny with cable through the floor...
I know this is how it works on the 70 and up camaro....

the bracket that ties the cable to the tranny is incorrect. can't remember but one of them assemblies was hanging off the column
thanxs god i take lots of pics
the curved rod assembly was off the bop tranny that was in the trunk and the straight one was hanging off the column. guess i'll have to ask if anybody has the bracket that bolts to the tranny that the rod assembly pivots to shift the tranny
the linkage is the same whether it's a turbo 350 or 400, as I used all the same stuff when I moved up to the 454/turbo 400. I'll have to take a look at my cars re the shape. I just responded to the other post re the shifter lever that bolts to the transmission for a floor shift car that needs to run the column linkage.
