69 Beaumont Dash Restoration

Well I finally got my Dash back From Dashboard Restorations USA after Paying $850 in advance and then waiting 8 months furious before it was returned. They shipped it in 4 cardboard boxes taped end to end, I took a quick look at the Receivers and it all looked ok so I headed for home. It wasnt untill I got home and took a real close look at the detail that I started to find flaws, The glovebox lid was never recovered or painted, the Ashtray and molding were painted a different black and were much glossier than the Dash, my gauges fit after a little trimming, The top of the dash looks good but if u look at the seams there are ripples in the covering and it looks like they just covered over the old cover as I can find 2 layers along the bottom. They broke one of my airvents and just left it out of the returned dash  ?? It will look great in the car but when you pay for a full restoration and this is what is returned ?? they state   Your unit will be stripped, reconditioned, shaped and recovered. I filed a complaint with the Washington State BBB after he kept giving me lip service with my phone calls and E mails, 2 more wks 2 more wks ect ect ect. I guess then he hurries the job and dosnt do a real showroon restoration. I wont use him again and defintely won't recommend him. The only other game in town is Just Dashes in California, I wish I used them now. Im going to e mail Dash restorations Owner Pete and voice my complaints but I really dont think I will get anywhere with this Company. He only had one complaint with the BBB about shipping costs and he has 3 onfile now, If you go on net and enter Dashboard Restorations USA there are a lot of unhappy people that have dealt with this company. Sometimes you DONT GET WHAT YA PAYED FOR !!!

Sucks when you pay real money for expected quality!!! And get crap in return... Keep harassing them..it won't fix the problem , but it may get you back some $$$ to shut you up.

I have had 2 69 dashes redone by Just Dashes and they were both excellent-they cost $1000 plus but again-they are excellent.I am sending my 68 A/C dash there to get redone. Its is really crappy that you got the run around and then got a poor return.Hopefully it works out for you

The Owner of Dashboard restorations USA did give me a credit for $200 toward buying the parts they broke and me having to work on the dash to get everything to fit. I used a hairdryer to heat the vinyl and had to do a lot of very carefull triming. It looks good now. I droped it off at the electricians to have it wired, should be ready tomorrow I hope.
