I'm just wondering how many 73437 cars would have came with the L48 engine, turbo 350 and 256 12 bolt rearend. In all my searches i only found a few others still around.

The info i have so far is from the protecto plate(came with the car), also stamped on the body plate. I also found the build sheet under the back seat.
I would have to say that the L48 was not especially popular with the typical tight Canadian buyer. What a great powerplant though. Smooth, powerfull & torquey, and not any running issues at all. The block is a 4-bolt main, crank is cast, cam is the very common 280/288 degree that was used in 307s, many mild 327s and most 350s through the L48. Heads have the 1.94" intake valves & 1.50" exhaust valves (room for improvement here if you want). The 2.56:1 axle ratio was stock with the 350-powered Beaumonts with the TH350 trans. I doubt many were installed into the base Beaumont Deluxe series. Cool car!
