NASA hood pick up

Two weeks ago I learned of a NASA hood with scoop inserts for sale in Bownmanville. I called and bought it sight unseen. Why? Asking price for this $800 gem was $150.

Today I went and got it and its probably better than the one on my car.  You can see that this thing is actually wider than my Suburban.

Good score Ray ! Some poeple thinks that's all they are worth ??? IMO all these old scooped hoods ie. Formula Firebird fiberglass dual snorkel hoods, GTOs, NASA hoods ... are all worth $500 + , 1975 that's already 37 years ago so these hoods are getting rarer every year gone by.

The scoop inserts easily sell for $250 and the ones I got with this hood are nicer than what I have on my car. I bought it from a retired Durham Region Police officer and he was sick of it hanging around his garage plus its a beast, 4 guys to carry it of.

Yup, good score Ray. I agree, a pickup truck can come in handy.

I'd like to see you carry that off the roof rack alone, the truck is 6 feet high, you guys must be super human if you can carry that hood alone over you head and place it on a roof rack without damaging a $60,000 truck. Anybody can carry it when it's on the ground.

I've sold 3 of the NASA hoods in the last 2 years & each one went for over $ 500.00 . next they are ackward but they ony weigh about 50 lbes. I have a rack built in my rafters of my garage so they can sit in/on it when they are not needed to be down. I always have to put them up in the rack by mysefl. They are made of some 2X4's made into a U-shaped rack so it sits horazantal to the rafters. It sits about 10 inchs lower then the rafters , & the ceiling is an 8 foot ceiling. Again I put it up there by myself. It's ackward but not that heavy. But it can see you would not want to put it up on the roof of the sub. by yourself, it would scratch the heck out of it. At least the roof rack. By the way getting it for $ 150.00 is a great price. The guys that bought mine both came from 400+ miles to get the ones that I had & thought they got a good deal on it.. Also If you need the correct screen that goes in the scoop , in th back of the scoop I have a few of them left. The price for the screen, & these are not the plastic pieces that are usually gone or broken but the true metal octaganial design screen pieces that go in to let in the fresh air through the hood if you would have the Ram Air system, they sell for $ 23.99 plus the shipping. Yes I do ship to Canada too. If your interestad in a set just let me know & give me your postal code so I can get a shipping cost. Thanks Rex.
