Odometer working - speedo not

Hi - I was out driving the old poncho the other night and all of a sudden the speedometer needle dropped to the bottom of the gauge - but the odometer continued to click off the miles so I know its not the cable.  Up until that point it had been working great - accurate and very smooth (for its age).  I do hear a scraping noise from it now though.  Took it out and on the bench you can hear the scrapping coming from the disk the needle is attached to.

Is there anything quick I could try to fix it with - pretty good at this stuff, but its not something I want to screw up worse.  Anybody know of a repair place in Ontario I could send it to ?

Thanks much !!!

Steve

You can fix it yourself. The needle is connected to a drum, and the drum is drive by a magnet. Look what's happened, the needle separate from is drum or the magnet is'nt drive anymore by the cable. Open it you can do it!
