Ryan that is one sweet ride you got there. Congratulations on the ownership of a piece of Canadian history. Your 66 is worth saving and restoring, no doubt about that. You came to the right place to learn everything you need to learn about that beautiful car of yours. THANK YOU for saving a four door and not cutting it up to save a car of lesser doors that is in far worse condition. Compared to some of rusted mess here in Ontario, your car is actually very clean and very worthy of a resto. Continued good luck with your 66 resto and please keep us all updated here. Cheers. lloyds classic auto parts in hixon bc i was just there he has a few 66 4 doors in his yard for specific 4 door parts im sure he has some of that rare 4 door chrome!

Ryan, you already have all the unique "chrome" trim (anodized aluminum really) so you are in very good shape. Only the rear bumper is an issue. There was a time when bumper shops were common and chrome was affordable (prior to the clean laws in the early 1990s). You can see about getting that rear bumper straightend & properly rechromed (cheaping out in that area will give poor results that don't last) or you can see about finding a straight replacement (not a common thing to find today, given the Beaumont backup light provisions). Overall you have a great car there. The easily fixed stuff, like the common lower fender & trunk panel rust are not going to be a problem, since the trunk floors have been reproduced for many years as they were a prone area and common stamping to many cars. If you are new to this, try to document and photograph  as much of the original stuff as you can, since they will become important reference as you get deeper into this project. The Canadian cars were finished differently than the U.S. Chevelles, with body-coloured firewalls & trunks, plus the floors. One day when you really become an expert on these cars, the shots from your unmolested example will become a lot more important than they7 may seem right now. I see you have the unique Canadian air cleaner. Do you still have the valve covers? Even they are different than the U.S. parts because the U.S. parts are stamped with a "Chevrolet" script. I you decide that you want to modify the car, at least try to group and keep the original parts. One day, even if you do not use them yourself, some Canadain Poncho fan will be glad you took the time to care for the unique Canadian parts. Keep us posted on your progress, even if it is a lot slower than you care to admit. Many of us have been there...
