1953/54 Carburetor

The last wo years of the 6 cyl Pontiac flathead featured a high compression head and a tw barrel carb that is not the same carb as the 8 cyl model. We need a good clean dry stored carb from a 53/54 six cyl manual transmission car.

53 and 54 WCD carb are not identical, but they are bolt-in for both years.

does anyone know why the carb on my 54 pathfinder with a six flathead looks like it takes the kit from a 2122S which is for an 8 cyl? i cannot identify this carb or the kit for it at all. should there be a two barrell carb on that motor? also what displacement should that motor be? 239?

welcome to the club who's searching something for canadian Pontiac.

If you found something that work, or fit, use it. Most of the time, parts listing for canadian Pontiac are very hard to find, but most of the parts are not.

The carb kit is a good example, but also the gas pump kit, the # is easy to find with 1949 US Pontiac, for 53-54 canadian pump.

Anyway, your car is a real 2 barrel CArter WCD model carburator, and 239 pc is your engine.

They are not easy to find and even harder for the 2010s. This one seems to be really hard for some of The parts. I've been on ebay for some time never seen a 2010s complete on there yet, but maybe soon! There's allways a chance you just never know.I have seen correct OEM Carter rebuild gaskets sets pretty cheap, and they were nice and not dried up. Here is whats common on ebay http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Carburetor-Kit-1953-54-Pontiac-8-cyl-w-Carter-WCD-NEW-/251123821462?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a78256b96 . These kits are for the 600,700, and 2100 series of WCD's.  Hope you find one I't took me some time to find a complete one.

Look like a 2010s, but I never had the tag on it. Pretty sure it's 2010s.

what else will bolt on there? im giving up hope ever finding whats wrong with the carb. i rebuilt it using the kit you listed above but i think the metering rods are too worn out. it runs rich and gutless and sprays black soot all over the drive way. will some kind of holley work?
