Numbers matching 396 BBC with Turbo 400 trans and 12 bolt rear end. Only 57000 miles on a very highly optioned car. Has complete factory air and complete cruise control setup plus bucket seats with console, AM-Fm stereo radio, speedminder speedometer, power trunk release, rear defrost, remote mirror, tilt column, and convenience lighting package. All the GP rocker mouldings intact and in great shape. Needs body work, frame solid. Have GM Canada documentation and build sheet.
It has the same seats and door panels as the 1969 Caprice I had in 1974. Caprice was a 427 4 speed. Pretty rare with all the factory options including air.
For sure I could see myself owning a 4dr hardtop big block GP if I transplanted my life as is back to 1969. Mine would be triple black though. I bet that car cost a pretty penny in 1969. I am still on the lookout for a nice low mileage Black Bonneville GXP 4.6 Northstar, almost a pipe dream at this point given they stopped production in 2005.

Ray, my buddy had a pewter GXP on his lot last fall. $8,000.
My son has owned 2 of these cars. They were both '04 models and black. I thought he learned his lesson after owning the first one. Common problems are: Failing guages (the motors in them go bad quickly); Broken motor mounts every 30,000 miles; Poor electronics; Emission system parts failures; Electronic steering system failures. Same problems on both of these cars. Check the GXP support forums. These cars are cheap right now. My son currently has his for sale with just 95,000 miles on it and all the problems listed above repaired. He's asking $9000 and hasn't had any interest. I think he's going to have to drop down to $7500! They are awesome looking cars (in black) no doubt about it!
What I like is the powerful Cadillac engine and Pontiac Style. I'm cheap when buying cars so I need a 50,000 to 75,000 km job for no more than 6gs. As gas prices rise I am sure one will come to me. Thanks for the info on isues with the car, very surprising when you think it is basically a Cadillac DTS/STS underpinnings. I'd be more worried about head gaskets but you never mentioned this.
I'd be more apt to buy a G8 GT. I haven't heard of any real issues with those cars.
I bought a pool from a GM employee he has a black 09 G8 with 70km V-8 auto-nice says $18-20--looking to buy something else---good buy if someone wants one-not many V-8's advertised
