Working Just Like New !!!! UPDATE Clock works now too!!!!

Today I Took apart the turn signal switch to see why it wasn't working that good, the previous owner said it had issues. It was hard to signal left and wouldn't reset after the turn, it would signal right sort a easy but would only reset every 3 turns. Once I got it apart, I noticed it was dirty (its pretty old) it had a missing screw that holds the inner parts in place and another loose screw. I tighted everything up and found a replacement screw (Philips head instead of the standard flat, what ever its the proper thread, its inside and won't be seen), fixed a small grounding issue and put it back together, lining up the control wheel with decent pressure to the steering wheel. Now everything works great, easy to signal left and right, it resets after 1/4 turn back all the time. Now I just need to get the 6volt clock working.

Good job! It's so satisfying when you can make somthing right on an old car isn't it! Parts that were made to be servicable doesn't hurt either.

Yeah I hope i can figure out the clock now, i have my factory 52 and a factory 53, the fronts are the same, just the 53 has 2 bulbs in the square backing and the 52 has one bulb on a round backing. I do have power and ground to the clocks in the car.

Look carefully, the diameter is slightly different. The 53-54 one has a lock, I don't know if the 52 has the same shoulder lock.

I checked the fitment of the '53's and it fits perfect, it is a bit longer so i just need to make sure i dont pinch the wires when i get it in, if i get the '53's clock working then i just need to wire up the dual lights and that i will do the same way they did it back in the day. My 52's clock is dead completely, the 53's runs for a bit then it looks to get snagged up and then goes for a little longer but eventually stops.

Got the 1953 clock to work 100% and is now mounted up into the '52, just needed a good cleaning and I did what was mentioned in a previous thread on CP about clock fixes, great tip that worked.
