RE: What $500 gets you

For soaking, try Seafoam, you can get it at Canadian Tire.

Both still require a lot of work.

Well I got some time in last weekend and this to clean, sand and repair the front wheel tubs. Did the same to the firewall.

Pulled the block as it's still siezed, I'll mess with it at a later date. The original 62 heads look like they can be saved, along with the numbers correct intake and exhaust manifolds.

The next step is rebuilding the rad support. As you can see from the pictures the left (drivers side) is badly rotted. My day dream is to locate a left side from a Beaumont or it's clone the Chevelle and to graft the lower portion on to the existing rad support. I realize buying a new one would be easier but ...........

Comments, anyone? Curious on solutions.

I have a 69 Beaumont support at the farm that is crinkled?  not sure how bad or how rusty.. no pics here at work. It will be awhile before I'm out that way again ..

it is a good thought,  to graft,  the lower portion is pretty rotten on yours too ..isn't it??

Rog,

The rad support is only rotted on the left side. If I can even get just a solid filler panel, I can fabricate the lower portion out of some 16ga and rebuild it from there.
