70 2+2 Convertible - 454 still pulling

Coming back from POCI, I had a long stretch of straight road in front of me and I thought I'd get a little silly.   I had the windows down, so it's not the most aerodynamic car, but it was still pulling.

Cool shot! Had a 74 Caprice 454 that would pull like a freight train. Surprised a lot of people that couldn't believe that they couldn't pull away from me on the 401.
What rear gear ratio are you running?

Awsome, and with windows down no less! I can quickly get to 110 with my new SB, but it really does start to need quite a bit more to push into 120 and beyond. Takes torque with the big car like yours.

I once had a 69 GMC pickup with a 454 TH400 that could bury the speedo 1/2 way up the 403 cut, and continue to pull all the way to the top turn.

2.73 rear gear ratio, front windows down, trunk full of luggage, etc required for a 4000 mile trip, and a bunch car parts.

Nice Clint   These Rats with highway gears are scary fast  The Rat LeMans can hit 115 on the on ramps to the Don Valley Parkway in Toronto   It takes maracaas to bury it in a convertible though.

This is why I always prefer full sized cars with big engines.

I once pegged the speedo on my 75 Parisienne 455. I don't know my speed but it was well over 120 mph.

Obvioulsy Clint has a great car. Love it.
