next project

well since the 54 is getting really close to being on the road my mind has started to wander to the next project.I am thinking of trying to find a 2 door 50's poncho and doing a straight axle gasser car, maybe with a 455 or something along that line.Anyone got any pics of some poncho gassers? If i can track down the fellow from bc who had a couple 54 2 door deliveries i think he had one with a camaro front clip that might work for a gasser.I know he had a stocker as well but would feel bad chopping up a virgin delivery since they are pretty rare.Let the search begin.

Do a gasser 54 that matches your current 54. It could look a little like this biggrin

NONE and i mean NONE of the Pontiacs pictured here make any sense to me what so ever. Just plain goofy  to say the least. Oh and by the way that includes that stupid 54 Chev wagon. The only car that makes sense is that 49/50 Chev GASSER. All the other cars on here need major RETHINKING. What a waste of a sweet and rare 54 Chev wagon.......DUMB,DUMB,DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheers. George,

George has a problem with shyness but we are thinking in time once he gets to know us all here on CP he will come out of his shell.....

you have to remember that this was the 50's and drag racing was evolving leaps and boumds. The front ends were raised up for weight transfer off the line.Yeah it kinda looks a little funny and some took it to extremes but hey that was the trend at the time.I know everybodys not crazy about them but i'm not building it for everybody i'm building it for me.

I am very familiar with 50's drag racing, very much so. None of these cars have anything to do with 50's or 60's drag racing, other than the 49/50 Chev gasser that is on here. That car makes sense, the other cars like i said before are GOOFY. I will try to break out of my shell some time soon and stop being so shy about the way i really feel. Cheers. George.

Brian, better to BUILD somthing fun and maybe a bit outrageous. than simply buy a string of boring stock sedans with no-power motors. Go for it!

Yes i totally agree with the fun factor and doing something that turns your crank...
There are cruisers i love with straight 6s and nasty big cube motors that will suck your eyeballs back, its all good.
I attend lots of shows and love variety of cars out there ,makes it interesting.
