Is a parts car worth saving

Welcome to the site, my opinion, for what it may be worth, is its a parts car. You have everything on that car needing $$. Mechanical, upholstery, body work, missing parts to buy, paint, glass, blah blah. You would be far better off, in todays market, to buy someone elses all expense paid investment. We've wrecked out better ourselves, only because it isn't a wise investment unless its a very low production, highly desirable model, which in this case it isn't. I say keep hunting! Cheers d.

P.S. I should add that I'm sure you will receive a few emails about this car hoping you will sell it, one person in particular, it does have some good parts on it, back-up delete plates, bucket seats (although they are the wrong year and model, console, again the wrong year and model, etc. Depending on what you have to pay for it, you could make a few dollars in the middling business........remember "Profit" isn't a dirty word!

Thanks guys for the advice. You have basically confirmed my own feelings.

I am looking for a 1965 Beaumont two door that needs the work done.
Usually I look for something running ..
Needs to be a 65 ... as that is my favorite look in all the years this car was offered.

The car isn't mine as I wanted the advice of this forum before spending anything to buy it.
I will give you the number of the guy who owns it as I am sure one of you could use the parts.

The car is located just of the freeway in Aldergrove and the owner can be reached at 604-996-5140.

I should add that last talking to him ... he thru $1000 at me but I have the feeling he is still very open

to anything that moves this of his yard.

I'll just need to keep looking ... love the site

Thanks

Hello everyone

New to this forum and looking for some advice.

Have a chance to pick up a 1965 Beaumont on the cheap but it would need lots of love before it sees pavement.

The car was bought by a Chevelle guy for parts .... all I see missing on the outside is the side trim. Engine is dead and has been for a long time. Interior is dead/missing and been the home of something that loves acorns. The car goes from solid in the front end to missing metal in the back. I have some pics as I have read that rhis forum loves them.

The tags

Style   73411          1-6-8

Body#             837441

Paint                        A

Trim                     904

             M35

Door Tag does say GM Canada  (57341105xxxx)

So the tags match and this car came with the 2 speed tranny, I believe aqua paint and a black interior.

So my questions ....

1)How hard is it to find the body trim that runs down the center on the side of the car.

2)Who is the best provider for sheet metal. I have found a couple on-line but I know from the

past that some are thinner then others.

3) I live in the lower mainland in BC ... who has a great rep at welding a car back together in my area?

4)What would be to much to pay for a dead runner for this style of car?

5)I have found new door panels and the seats can be redone .. what interior pieces are hard to find?

I see so far also needing a steering wheel and dash cover and will need to replace every lock.

6)anything else I should be looking for .... I know the hood hinges are shot too.

still has side tags ... Deluxe and V8

engine will need replacing ... I think stock was the 283 but would need to confirm

The interior is shot

and dreaded rusted out trunk area

Between the tail lights has no lines or letters .. is that common

the chrome is all there in the front but grill would need a total replacement

I know I am looking at a long term project but have a shop to keep it in. Thinking

15 to 20 grand put into it should give me a nice car.

What are your thoughts on this. I come from a Volkswagon and Camero past and

have had some rusty things in my driveway but have never attempted a complete rebuild before.

Love the year and car ..... just need some opinions on if its better to look elsewhere or go for it.

Thanks

Welcome to the site.
You really have to love that car to put all that work into it. I would expect for your budget you could find one that's already done like the 4 speed 72 LeMans Sport that is for sale on here.

yup , you will need a good supply of cutting discs , to much work to do on that one , also imagine the hidden surprises, look how that thing is sunken into the ground , the frame might bee dead on that one to ( thats surprise no 1 )

the console is an add on , same for the buckets seats and the Acadian script is missing ( unles the base models didnt have them , but i dont think so )

I live close to that car, looked at it a couple times. Parts only, and not much of value. It's a post car as well, so the doors arn't even much value.
