AUTOFEST 2012 August 24-26 Oshawa ON.

This is the big one. I always  look at it as a homecoming for my car, back to its birthplace. Planning on attending with the LeMans, also plan to fill the trunk with good saleable items. Anyone who has recieved parts from me knows that my stuff is good, I'm tired of tripping over it. I'll sell on Saturday I think. Should be there both Saturday and Sunday. May try and coax my wife along one day as it is a great venue on the lake and lots to see and do.

I know Numbers Guy is on route from BC, Anyone else planning on attending?

I's say there are 1,500 cars there per day and plenty are for sale. Last year that cream 64 post Strato Chief was there.

I'll be in Oshawa Wednesday afternoon.  Doing the street party friday night and both shows Saturday and Sunday.   I look forward to meeting as many Canadian Poncho members as possible.   I'd also like to meet as many members of my own club as well.

This show is what gets me through seven months of work, six days of driving across the country to attend.   I enjoy bringing my car back to the city that built it.  I'm a big believer in driving my car as much as possible.   My car is probably less polluting than most of the SUV's and mini vans that I passed on the highway coming here

I've enjoyed meeting past GM employees who actually were on the assembly line building my car back in '72.   They seem to be very impressed that one of the cars they built forty years ago is still out on the road and being enjoyed.

My car is almost at 370,000 original miles and still going strong.   Built back in the day when Canada still had many blue collar production jobs and people in this country took pride in the cars they built.  I'd buy any car assembled in the Oshawa plant.   I was lucky enough to do the tour of the car plant back in 1995.   I saw the pride the workers took in building the cars that came down the line.   I was further impressed when I also was lucky to tour the truck plant then too.

Just remember all old car hobbists are recyclers.   The pollution created to mine the ore for the steel in our cars was anywhere from fifty or more years ago.   We all try to recycle as many parts from damaged examples as we ca.   So we do the three R's Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Yes, you have to sell parts in the designated area But you could park the car in a high traffic area for a few hours then move it to sell plus people will see the car for sale with the parts. If that Oshawa pedigee LeMans can't sell at Autofest I'll be a monkey's uncle.

Yes Steve I'll be at the barbeque on Saturday night.  Hope to see you before then.

How are you doing by the way since your operation a year ago?   Back to normal?

Oh thank god....   I was worried you had changed in some way.   Glad to hear you're still the same person I meet a few years ago.

Bring the blue GMC to AutoFest?   You'll be easier to find that way.
