Took the 52 to Lindsay A&W cruise last night, still running hot on the guage but infa red shows about 15 degrees less than guage?? Anyway, spoke to quite a few owners who said they were NOT going to autofest this yr. for the 1st. time in many yrs. Cost was the main factor, $40 just too much, & 2nd. was, they are just getting tired of it after so many yrs!!!

$40 is too much of a registration fee ?

Lets see, if I went as a spectator it's $10 at the door and I wouldn't go alone so say two buddies , that $30 and I go both days so that's $60. You are ahead $20 by registering, plus you get a shot at a crate engine each day, prizes and fun.

I hear ya Ray, but if you don't go, it costs you nothing!!!!! I've never been to it, so I can't say what it's like, but most people I spoke to last night just said $40 is too much to attend for one day!!! Think they should have a reduced fee for the 1 day people ????????

It is really good Pete, my opinion, I know Woodward was last weekend and last year I did both, enjoyed Autofest much more. IThis will be te first time for te LeMans going though, I just look at $40 as my parking and entry fees for two days and if I win a GM Ram Jet all the better.

I paid $30.00 last weekend to enter a (50) car show ... Karz For Kidz ... all proceeds went to a childrens hospital. I didn't mind at all ... great way to spend a couple hours!

Oh thank god....   I was worried you had changed in some way.   Glad to hear you're still the same person I meet a few years ago.

Bring the blue GMC to AutoFest?   You'll be easier to find that way.

as i was blashing into the shwa on the 401 this morning i noticed your car parked at the host hotel. i had to pick up a new drive shaft for the beast. i'm kinda hard on drivetrains.

40 bucks to park your car at a street party, 2 days of relaxation at the waterfront with like minded folks, a t-shirt, autofest commemorative mugs and a host of other stuff in a grab bag plus the profits go to charity. whats not to like, i'm all in.

whats a case of beer and a pkg of cigarettes worth these days

These guys are penny wise and pound foolish

They are probably the ones with the cheaper red heater hoses and Canadian Tire tires on their restored cars  lol

next thing they will complain about the price of gas...   cheapskates

Almost all of these shows have their profits go to charities so a person should be happy to give. Remember in life it is what you give and not what you keep that is important. Red Deer had me dig deep for $90 for the day but if I would have taken advantage of the full week and the tours and 2 tickets for the banquet it was a bargain. They also had a great cause that all monies were going to. I think it is neat when you hear later that x amount of dollars was raised for a certain charity and you were a part of it.

We sold both of our Chevelles over the winter and had nothing old enough to take to the Oshawa Autofest.  We have been at every show since the beginning.  On Saturday, I will be taking a friend's 1968 California Special Mustang and on Sunday another friend's '68 SS396 Chevelle convertible.  I was also offered third friend's '69 427 Corvette.  Do I have good, trusting friends or what?  aww  On grass, under the trees and on the shore of Lake Ontario, what's not to like.  Whether true or not, I don't know but there has been talk that this might be the last year for Autofest.  It's been a great show and it would be a shame if it ended.

I don't have a problem with $40 if your going to do the whole wknd. thing, but for the folks that can only go on Sun. "it's a bit steep" in most cases, That seemed to be the general consensous at the cruise in's I attend. Guess we are CHEAP!!!!

It would be nice to sell it on this site Ken but I really wonder how many guys have an extra 18 gs. jingling in their jeans and if they do they do have a few choices. Maybe 50 guys on this site? I think you really have to open it up and car shows are good because there are often guys there snooping.   I would have thought Kijiji may have gotten you some results.   by now.  I would go and just enjoy that 4 hour drive in that car if nothing else.  Getting exposure is big among car guys as we are pretty good about talking to others.  I know that is how I found my car.  Good luck either way.
