Acadian AM radio conversion to AM-FM sollid state radio

Prior to selling my 63 Acadian Sport Deluxe, I took two Acadian radios with me on my annual trip to SW Florida.  In Venice, I believe there is a gentleman working out of his home that performs an AM-FM conversion that allows you to keep the original look of your Acadian but substanually increses output from about 12 w when new to 140w.  He opened the case, removed all internal parts and installed a solid state circuit board that requires about 1/3 of the space and includes a connection for your MP3 player.  Everything is new state of the art and will allow you to hear the tunes with your top down or windows rolled down.

This conversion cost $389 plus tax and now I do not have a use for the radio.  The second Acadian radio I had was cleaned and checked over so that it now works as good as new for a almost 50 year old AM radio.

I'm asking $350 for the converted radio and $70 for the working AM radio, plus shipping.

Please email me at Halletts1@chartermi.net for pictures, offers or information on this conversion.

thanks,  Norm

 making it live

Had mine done at Woods also, he's in BC so easier back anfd forth, works like a charm, he also built me a double speaker set up for the center dash mount, bit of a chalenge, but did not have to give my fresh air vents at the kick panel.

Lefty,   I don't drink, but I'm not much of a camara guy either.  I thought a macro was a cookie.  I do believe I have some knobs somewhere and I will eventually find the business card for the guy in Venice that did the conversion.

As a side note. another item I had and never installed on the Acadian is a GM of Canada tissue dispenser.  It is excellent condition and I think it's worth about $100.  I will try to post a picture if itisn't too fuzzy right after I finish my macro. biggrin  confuse

I did sell that piece.  We are preparing to go to Florida in October and starting this year we will spent 6 mos there and 6 mos in Michigan.  Therfore, I'm trying to sell all my Nova Acadian parts prior to leaving in October.  I just started putting everything on eBay last month and I have sold about half of the parts I had in storage.  Quite a few of the parts are new repro's or NOS and still in original packages.  My user name on eBay is fore-speed and I currently have over 20 auctions listed.  The radio in this thread is one of the items listed, still at $350.  If someone from the CP forum wants to buy the radio, I will take $300 plus shipping.  I believe the tissue dispenser is sold to a member.

Thanks,

Norm
