396 PARISIENNE for sale in Saskatoon, not mine, 4 doors

Looks like part of a AC bracket as well from the previous car it was in.  This may have been the rumoured  1965 396 I was trying to verify a few years back.

I think it may be worth something for the Pontiac 396 from a somewhat later year but i hope they don't pawn it off as the real thing

It looks solid, too bad they didn't take better photos.

We need to get the cowl tag info for this car. It has always been thought that there are no factory 396 1965 Canadian Pontiacs built.

Never mind, a couple of clues say that's likely a later model 396 anyway.

Yes, short water pump so 68 or down and so is the bracket 68 or older. However, isn't that a 69 air cleaner?

It has the pipe out the right side to go down to the shield/stove that would be on the right side manifold. I don't know if 68 had that (think it did) but 69 did for sure.

I forget what year the water valve started. I had it on my 66 427 air car but I put in the engine from one car, a/c from another. If I had to guess I'd say 67 or newer for the water valve.

I was hoping you'd see it. I figured you'd know right away what it is.

Lot more than that 427 4 door east of Thunder Bay sold for.

Totally agree.  I'd even pay to have it run just to find out, although a close look may settle it as well, if we could see some more details.

I'm sure the 396 was made in a factory but I'm not sure it was put in the car in a factory.  This is the kind of wordsmithing that is open to interpretation and leads to trouble, sort of like saying to the wife, "I spent a bit of money on the car today...."

I have a valve like that on my 66 AC car so that seems right to me.  Never did know what its exactly for though

While I am one of those adherents to the idea that there were no 1965 396 Canadian Pontiacs from the factory, if ever there was a candidate to disprove this, this may be the car, 4 door Hardtop top line Parisienne. It would be very good if someone close could go and get the data plate and VIN so it could be run through GMVVS. I don't think it will check out but if it does we have a the missing link here. It is a cool car with the big block.

Someone get the VIN and let me have it. Being so close to Oshawa George usually turns these around in about 3 days by mail.

The intake looks like a 265 hp, 2 barrell from here.  Am I dreaming?

Thanks

Randy

Ya, I guess when the ad says factory 396, he means 1969 factory Pontiac 396, that would explain 2bbl 265 HP engine.

I'm pretty sure it's a 68. Here's a pic of my #'s matching 396 from the 68 2+2 :
