Rare L78 Pontiac off to the Maritimes

Thanks Carl, there's another picture of Keith and I shaking hands, do you have it?

The car ran like a champ all the way home, it did spit some coolant out whenever I stopped, but as I suspected, it was just finding it's level. (When I checked it cold the morning after I got home, it was still within 3/4" from the neck.)

Carl, you're mileage claims were a little off though. I know this sounds impossible, but I was getting a little over 20 mpg on the highway! ( 60-65 mph max speed)

So, some thanks are in order, first to the site for giving us a place to get together for buying and selling fine cars like this, and of course all the other forums here. Secondly to Carl for buying the car off Steve F. and putting it back in the limelight on this site. To Ken for working with Carl to do a deal when Carl decided that AC was a GOOD thing. Ken, you're great to deal with and it was nice to meet you. ( You just need to proof-read your cell # before posting biggrin)Finally to Keith T. for rescuing this car and bringing it back to life. Keith you or Dale can take er out for a spin anytime you're in my neighborhood or vice versa.

Todd, look for the $250 CP donation coming your way tonight. By the way, the car is now sporting NB plates, got them today, and the car will be at the Sussex Balloon Festival car show this coming Sunday.

Oh, and how could I forget to thank my  WIFE! Thank you for being so supportive Carol!

I think the car has over 17K miles since we sold it so I doubt that a day's drive to Fredericton would hurt it in the slightest. Everyone who snoozed can wake up now. Barry dropped by and let me take the car for one last cruise around the block before heading east. Like I've said before, had we not already bought the 2005 Corvette, the Lemans would have been back in our garage a few weeks ago. It has found a good home with the rest of Barry's fine cars.

Odd that the block with my sig is included with no text, so I'll just repeat my comment from the other thread:

"Congrats to all involved!  I'm really glad to see this one going to a new home!  thumbsup.gif"

It took awhile it looks like it finally found the right buyer!!

When I brought it home  Uncle Bernie was following me and  70 mph on the Lemans is 62 mpgwink

Driving down to Welland in 40C heat I was driving 70-72 which would be 62-65

If you drove 60-65 max  you were doing 55mph

I can see where you could get 20     but  who cares?  lol  Its a Muscle car!!!
