HI iwas sitting down at canadian tire last saturday with abunch of car buddies and This older fellow comes up to me and ask if I had a 261 engine in my car .Isaid yes he says Ihave a1958 pontiac at home with the same motor withautomatic trans .and abunch of parts to go with it .2 days later Iwent to look the body on the car was pretty bad and there is lots of chrome parts all over the place the doors and fenders are not bad at all.The engine is in tack and runs well He told me the engine was rebuilt about 38.ooo miles on it .Iguess he loss interest in it .he is building a 1971 nova and said he was looking fir a350 4 bolt main to rebuild Itold him Ihad one in my shed for the last 10 years.it was rebuilt and never used .Iwas more interested In the 261 than any thing else especially with the auto.any way Im going next week to get the engine. We made a swap.some of the parts wont fit my car .so Im going to try to get every thing together and figure how much stuff there is .There is parts everywhere. Gerry

Gerry, it sounds to me like you got the better part of the deal. A running 261 with powerglide for a common 350. You are way ahead in that deal sir. Congratulations, you are laughing all the way to Pontiac heaven. Cheers. George.
