Well if it is from a GN it is too narrow for a 73  A body.

all '78-'88 A/G bodies had the weak 7.5 diff except the buick GNs and olds 442s which had the stronger 8.5s

much like the early camaro and nova 12 bolts, they bring good $$

What's so special about this rear end ? It looks exactly the same as mine in the 75 Grand Am ...

That's pretty much what I would expect to have to pay. These are hard to find.

Well I learned something today, I thought thes 80's GNs and 442s  all had 7.5 diffs ... The 8.5 posi pumpkins are probably the same as the 70s ones so I'll buy these older 8.5 posi rearends ones for 300-500$ max ...

These 8.5's ususally come with 3.42/3.73 in the GN and 3.73 in the 442's. What I need behind the BigBlock in our G bodysmile

Yes,I believe all the Buick G body Turbo cars that had an 8.5" diff were 3.42. All the Cutlass (Hurst and 442) that had 8.5" diffs were 3.73.

The last GN diff I had that I sold went for $1000 without even having to run an ad for it.

Just checked the add & says it's SOLD but drums & other stuff still available. That may have been the rear end I "might" have to stuff" under the 52, as it's got the 7.5 now, with 3:42 gears from Summit!!!! Somebody didn't "flinch' at the price!!!!
