68 B BODY 396 EMBLEM 3405390

IMG_2430.JPGIMG_2431.JPGIMG_2432.JPGGoing through my "collection" of emblems and came across these two NOS 68 396 emblems which I had purchased many years ago. After taking a look at them I noticed something I had never noticed before . One of them has gold paint in the number "8" and the other is plain chrome in the number "8". These emblems are UNTOUCHED original service parts. I wonder if the gold was phased out at some point or the one emblem was just missed being painted.

Well, I throw a monkey wrench into this, here's the one I have, the 8 is red ! This topic is great, just goes to show that making a car "factory correct"  is a difficult task.

Probably one of the rarest Canadian Pontiac pieces ever. Reports of them selling for $1,000 each NOS.

How rare are '69 427 emblems? I used an NOS pair on my restoration, and it was the ONLY set I ever found, so considered myself lucky.

You should seriously consider have a 3-D laser scan done on one of those emblems before installing them. They very well could be the last unused set in existence.
