Ya thats what I was trying to see,how the cowl looked with the beaumont grill. I think I like the hood, but by the time I purchase it and get it painted , its about a grand. Too much to justify running a dart single plane intake for an extra 30 horse or so. Im building a 496 with around 600 horse for the car ,but I think Ill stick to the rpm air gap. It should fit under my hood still. Thanks for the pic.

Ya only if I can find a used hood locally. Im still trying to de-chevy the looks of my wagon ,so in that way the flat hood is cooler.

That 2" cowl looks nice on that car... But you're right $1000 bought and painted... You're probably better to chase an extra 50hp in the engine to make up for the dual plane! ;) Are you going to do any port work on the air gap?

There is a flat 65 chevelle hood on Kijiji Winnipeg for a $100 bucks. If your looking for an extra one to play with. That is if a chevelle hood is the same as a Beaumont .

I dont think Ill need another hood, theyre not the same at the front from what I hear from some of the guys on here. Just took the motor out today and forgot how friggin heavy that stock hood actually is.

I might get the dart Merlin heads ported ,and maybe match the intake to them.
