Neat car, but does need some attention.  It's a 4-speed!

(Edit:  Oops, I forgot to paste in the ad the first time around and I linked to a search instead because 8 - O in the ad URL gives me )

Ya I saw that. My favourite year of Cutlass (one of my favourite cars actually) with a Toronado Torque monster engine in it ... they kept it all Olds!

Take a look at the shifter plate on the trans tunnel..... oh wait, its not there, must have been removed to mount that awful looking wood console. Wouldn't be able to get a safety in Manitoba with that massive hole in the floor, you can see it really good in picture #2 lower right side. Is it a true stick car? Those seats do look a little on the early-mid 80's Fôrd type Mustang or Tempo no

Also, I'm not sure what the buckets are out of, they're not 68 GM seats. I'd peg the value lower, say 7G or so ( And I like posts!) Any thoughts on true market value?

the post car would most likely have been a bench car. Also the exhaust trumpets are mounted incorrect. They should tuck into the bumper to the point where the trumpet section flare out. These look like a  CT add on.

all 442's Bilt from 1965-69  were 400 big blocks and 1970-71 455's. 72's were mostly 455's but there were some 350's. Also with the exception of 1972 all 442 vin # start with 344. So if it ain't 344 its not a 442

If it was a #'s matching car would be more $$$ & off the dial if a W series!! Priced to sell think he's left some 'wiggle" room!! Would like to have seen some interior shots but maybe the "woody" between the seats would put you off!!May get 10G's out of it, if int. not trashed, see a patch on frt fender, but thats normal!!!!

Are there real '68 442s with 4-speeds and solid bodies out there for $5000?  I would have thought maybe $8000 - $9000, but five thousand?  Guess the market is flatter than I thought.

We're going on the seller's statement that the body/frame/floors are excellent, plus non original motor, needs a fair amount of interior work, etc. It may seem like nit-picking, but to me a perfect floor isn't cut up for a shifter and a perfect trunk floor doesn't have rust stains. ( What are the drop offs like?) I'd still like to have it though.

Gotcha.  It's not gonna be in my driveway one way or the other.  Just thought it was cool that it was a post car as you don't see them too often.

I'd like to know where these sellers come up with the $$figure ??? is it from watching B-J & think "My cars gotta be worth the same as that car"!!![ just needs a paint job & complete interior & floor repaired, but it's the same yr. & make!!] Or is it an "over appraised" car for insurance & they don't realize that's not the resale value??? even if the appraisel was closer to it's "real insurance value" the resale is still lwr.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK,

For your edification, a maritime car that, sorry to say is that solid is a $10-12K car...a $5K car is basically a Flintstonemobile...spent 6 yrs in NB...saw way too many religious cars...they were hollier than hell!..esp if they were from NS or the Acadian peninsula of NB

To us in Western Canada there is no way that the car is worth that much due to having more solid cars available to us...

A $10,000.00+ project like this will not sell out here, especially one with no matching #s and no real interior ... even if it's a fairly rare model. There is not the riches in the Maritimes like western Canada.
