Is it ok that you paid 3x the price for the engine that the whole rest of the car?? It would look great in the '67...but crap who would pay that for a reman engine?

I have done some research before on these motors. Only 39 released in 63 427-409 block, 535hp 2 afb carter carbs.Only available to high up people not drag racers.

 A pair of bare Z11 NOS cylinder heads sold on Ebay about 3 or 4 years ago for around $13,000. I know of who is selling it-its the real thing. The valuable air cleaner is missing and that is worth a lot on its own.

 

Check this link out and watch the video of it at the strip-he shifts it like a granny but I guess when you're driving a six figure car you probably would too.

57 Z-11 impalas built, delivered to dealers, who sold them to drag racers

jenkins/strickler received the 1st Z-11 in dec '63

1963 also came out with the " Mystery 427" and cleaned up on the Nascar tracks. Chevy had a good year.
