Wheel skirts for a 1950 fleetleader special

Hey Bill, sounds like a good project, if my car wasn't all wrapped up, I would've been able to get you measurements. I will also search the internet to see what else I can find for measurements. Here is the Chevsofthe40s.com parts list for the skirts, they have some good pictures you can zoom in on for the locking arm and side pin, the other side locking pin looks Almost the same as the locking arm side but its welded in place. The retaining clips that mount to the car are only $18 for a set of 4 and the weather stripping that attaches to the skirts is about $18 for a 10foot length, more than enough for both sides, the skirts are about $185 for the pair I believe, I hope this helps a bit smile

Great info. B-52. I didn't realize there was locking clips required to install skirts. Bill, I have what I believe to be an original pair that I would lend you for patterns if you want to pay the shipping from California. Sounds to me though that it would be less hassle to buy them from Cars of the 40's...? I have seen them come up on eBay occasionally as Chevy's should be the same. PM me if you decide.

50sedan, thanks for the offer, an easier way would be just to trace the shape on a piece of craft paper, with maybe dimension , postage versus shipping would be much cheaper and safer , I could go out in the snow and measure them, but after yesterday kneeling in the snow while changing headlight bulbs on my dodge truck was bad enough, its just that I like playing with metal in the garage and it would give me somthing to try my new bead roller on something

thanks bill in red deer

No problem Bill. I'll dig them out (of the shed that is- no snow here- that's why I moved!!) PM me your address.

Meantime- I'm going to need the bench seat mounting bracket dimensions(distance apart on the body) of your Torpedo.

I'm trying to decide whether I want to go with one in my SD or stick with the OEM buckets.
